Characteristics

Mid 20th Century Circular Oak Side Table

A handsome and well-proportioned mid 20th century oak pedestal table, combining traditional craftsmanship with understated design. Constructed in solid oak, the table displays a warm honey-toned colour and an attractive natural grain, making it a versatile piece suited to both period and contemporary interiors.

The circular top is finely moulded and supported by shaped brackets above a beautifully turned central pedestal, lending the table an elegant silhouette while providing excellent stability. The pedestal terminates in a robust four-legged base with gently swept feet, creating a balanced and timeless form inspired by earlier Georgian and Victorian designs.

Compact yet practical, this table is perfectly suited for use as a side table, lamp table, wine table, or occasional table, whether placed beside a sofa, armchair, or in a hallway or bedroom.

The solid oak construction has acquired a rich, mellow patina over time, enhancing its character and highlighting the quality of the timber.

Presented in very good vintage condition with minor age-related wear consistent with careful use. The table is solid, stable, and ready for everyday use.

Sustainability

The average piece of furniture generates approximately 47kg of carbon dioxide equivalents – roughly the same as burning 5.3 gallons of petrol. Buying this item second-hand versus a newly made equivalent recovers the energy used to make it, rather than generating further emissions and using new materials.
